Meet Fr. Terry Grachanin
Parochial Vicar Father Terrence GrachaninFather Terrence Grachanin (38) is the son of Charles and Barbara (Misencik) Grachanin of Avon Lake (Holy Spirit Parish) and has two sisters, Stephanie (brother-in-law, Joseph; nieces, Sophia and Lily) and Kristen (brother-in-law, Jason). He is a graduate of Avon Lake High School, and prior to entering the seminary was employed as a graphic designer and pursued a degree in illustration and desktop publishing.

He entered Borromeo Seminary in 2005, and completed undergraduate studies; having met the requirements in philosophy and religion as set forth by the Program for Priestly Formation by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and graduated from John Carroll University in May 2008, with a major in Art History, a minor in Philosophy, and Concentration in Catholic Studies.

He was then accepted into the five-year graduate program at Saint Mary Seminary for theological studies and on-going formation and discernment. In May 2013, he completed his graduate studies with a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts, having defended his thesis, “The Pietà: Theology in Stone.”

On May 18, 2013, he and his four classmates were ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend Richard G. Lennon, Bishop-Emeritus of Cleveland. The following afternoon, Father Terry celebrated his first Mass at his home parish on their patronal feast day of Pentecost.

Having completed his first assignment at Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Parma, where he enjoyed sharing life and ministry with the parishioners and those on staff since June 2013, he anticipates appreciating the same at Saint Brendan Parish.
