My name is Bill Elwer, and I am a Second Year Permanent Diaconate Candidate. Defiance, Ohio is my hometown where I grew up with my two older brothers and younger sister. I have been married to my wife, Michelle, for 28 years, and we have two adult children David and Rachel. We have been parishioners of St. Jude in Elyria for 21 years. I am employed by Dealer Tire as an IT Manager. In my younger days, athletics was my passion. As a parent, coaching the youth in CYO Basketball and Track. It was during these coaching days where my interest in the Permanent Diaconate began to grow. My first impressions of St. Brendan parish has been one of welcoming warmth. I hope to meet and to get to know many more of you throughout the year as I get more involved in various ministries.
