Logos Statements [loh-gos]
One way to incorporate the faith across the curriculum is to utilize “Logos Statements” for each area of study. Logos translates to “word” in Greek, and Logos Statements can be thought of as Truth Statements, or the “bigger picture” for each class.
Regardless of the specific lesson being taught, the teacher can always point back to the Logos Statement to help students understand the connection to their faith.
Examples of Logos Statements include:
Physical Education
Our bodies are a gift from God and capable of amazing things. Therefore, we must nurture our bodies through exercise, nutrition, and healthy habits.
Mathematics
The numbers and calculations look chaotic, but God makes sense of the chaos and brings us to a solution that is balanced and provable.
