Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship

A weekly series to make an informed decision
To read click on light blue document title

Week 1: Introduction
As Catholics and Americans, we're blessed to participate in our nation’s political and public life.

It's our responsibility to study Catholic teaching and tradition, participate in the Church, learn from trustworthy sources, and do our best to make wise judgments on candidates and public policy.

On behalf of the Catholic bishops of Ohio, the Catholic Conference of Ohio advocates for laws and legislation in Ohio that align with a Catholic vision of a moral and just society.

The US bishops provide a foundation to better evaluate policies, platforms, and candidates in light of the Gospel and the Church’s moral and social teaching.

Week 5: Common Good
Pope Benedict XVI writes in Caritas in Veritate (Charity in Truth): “The more we strive to secure a common good corresponding to the real needs of our neighbors, the more effectively we love them.”

St. Brendan School Children Featured in a National FDLC Invitation

FDLC or Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions is a national commission that works in conjunction with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This commission of ordained and lay ministers of the Church, have been established as a resource to implement liturgical catechesis and formation in all national dioceses for the spiritual welfare of local parishes. Our St. Brendan School children were featured in their most recent video invitation to a national meeting in Cincinnati, 2023 regarding "Masses with Children."

INTO LIFE

The Sisters of Life and the McGrath Institute for Church Life teamed up with CampCampo Films to create an original 12-part video series based on the work of the Sisters serving women who are pregnant. Journey with the Sisters of Life as they explain what it means to walk with a woman who is pregnant and vulnerable. Learn what it means to deeply listen to and understand the heart of another, how to rejoice in the beauty of the individual person, and what it means to truly accompany someone into God’s life and freedom.
